Song of the Week [POP]: Beyoncé - 1 + 1
Since this week marks the release of Beyoncé's fourth studio album - appropriatly named "4" - i thought id make this weeks edition of Song of the Week one of the tracks off of said new album. It was hard to pick, since the album is literally full of little gems, but looking back at the last few editions of song of the week and noticing that all of the song have been 'dance pop' songs, i thought it was time for a little bit of a slow down, so, i picked a Beyoncé ballad! (yay?)
The album is quite 'Ballad Heavy' so that made the task of picking a ballad even harder, so after a few listens through the album i thought that the promo single and one of the better songs on the album "1 + 1" would be the best choice for this weeks edition of 'Song of the Week'. Its quite a different sounding song for Bey, as her pitching at some point and vocals seem more unedited, but whatever, imma begin talking about it right...... NOW!
The track was penned by Terius Nash, Christopher Stewart and apparently Bey herself (but given past controversys, i wouldnt count on it) and has been discribed as a 'slow burning R&B power balled with an almost not esistant beat' and more in 'the vein of halo than her previius hits', the song discusses Beyoncé professing her endless love to her partner and commanding that he makes love to her (it actually say that... no joke) to cement the love she feels they share. The song itself proves that when Bey steps down from all this hoodrat shit (although Run The World >>>>>>> this) and simpley focuses on using her vocals and powerful delivary to make the song work that the end product is usually almost more effective and successful than when she tries to do an uptemo that sometimes come across as crass, fake & above all else, shite (See 'Diva' and the like...).
How does this song compare to the rest of the singles Beyoncé has released from "4" so far. Well, in all honesty this is my least favourite, but it doesn't mean it is a bad song, its actually pretty great. How will the song stand up against her growing back collection of singles? I doubt it will be released as a single, as the only ballad seller now is Adele, but it should be considered one of Bey's better ballads and overall one of her better singles, even if it will NOT see the success this subtle number deserves.
Queen Beys album "4" is out now. Listen to the promo single "1 + 1" above and buy the album from iTunes, amazon or any good retailer. Please, DON'T let this be 2011's 'Bionic'.
Shit Bit: At times, the song can sound a little desparate, and while it would work for most other artists, it doesnt work well for Bey. The repatition of 'MAKE LOVE TO ME' can be a little bit of a 'akward ...' moment...

The Flop Chart: Natalia Kills
Yes, once again the time has come to scalp basic bitches and throw shade at everyone you hold dear to your pathetically basic hearts. Yes, it is the one and only, now infamous addition to the WNHFT blog. You know what it is, the 3rd addition of THE FLOP CHART!
Once again, imma explain this in case y'all basic ass hoes don't know what this is. Basically, once a week i will rate an artist depending on what i personally feel like reviewing, whats hot on messaging boards and some of the responses we get on the official WNHFT twitter blog. This week, the result was kinda unanimous when it came to who i should cover this week. Its the one and only queen of Dark pop and flopping...

NATALIA KILLS
Yep, This week 'imma review the girl who has been the 'next big thing' for the last few hundred years, the one and only Natalia Kills. I'm bi-polar with Miss. Kills, but it had to be done. In terms of success, records sold, live performances and her image, she is a flop. Please read/sip some of the true ass tea below and get educated on another one of the flops currently fading into obscurity at the bottom of singles charts, album charts and peoples ability to care all over the world.
1) Natalia has what we in the 'buisiness' call Chronic Shade disorder. This means Natalia has a really nasty habit of throwing some pretty serious shade at artists better/more successful than she is. Some of these artists include the likes of Christina Aguilera, Lady GaGa and Rihanna. This would be acceptable, as urrbody is allowed an opinion, even flops. But when your acts and gimmick is ripped off from all these people and countless others, its probably best to keep it cute.
2) Her live perfomances are abysmal. When i saw the flawless Kelis back in October Natalia mimed her entire set. Miming is OKAY for Britney, but a new act looking to try and impress a new audience and garner attention to herself that isn't associated with 'she talked shit about _____', miming and looking like one of the pig out of 'Babe' whilst doing so is NOT a good idea.
3) The music itself is hit and miss. The whole 'im angry and don't fuck with me, Kay?' shit has been done to death by Rihanna during the Rated R era, long before anyone knew who Natalia Kills was. Why should they care now that a less convicting version of the original singer is doing so, but with less impressive results?
4) The final and most important fact, Natalias act is faker than a pound store barbie doll called 'Bolly' who's boyfriend is called 'Denny' and has no 'friends'. Over the last 5 years Natalia has changed her act at least 5 times (Verbz, Natalia, Verbalicious) and the whole 'ive always been dark' shit sounds LIKE shit when we've all seen the videos of her on youtube back when she was talking about how much she loved shopping and cock as opposed to the Natalia Act, in which 'vanity, sex and money are the best, but other less important things are shit' becomes so fake its harder to swallow than a fist full of soroxat, which is something Natalis see-through act may urge you to do.
5) For someone who is always rattling on about 'artistic credibility' and how you feel a lot of acts are generic when compared to your 'mastery' of dark pop (is that even a fucking genre?) when your next single has been remixed to feature Will.I.Am and your CURRENT single is a feature on LMFAO's single, needless to say when it comes to Natalia Kills and the generic acts she trys so hard to distance herself from, its really a case of 'Hello Pot, Meet the Kettle'.
And those gawrls, are why Natalia Kills is one of the biggest flops in music right at this moment. Natalia sis, i HATE to say this to ya (again), but when it comes to Success. always the brides maid, and never the bride... NEVER, the bride...
This is Busty St.Clair signing out, wishing you good health, good luck and hoping that after the last few weeks Ive taught you NOT to stan for a basic ass hoe like good 'ol Natalia Kills. If you like it, subscribe/follow this blog for more shady goodness. If not, well then...
The UK Music Scene. Light at the end of the tunnel?
Just several days after i posted my scathing review of the UK music scene it seems that things have gotten both better and worse, I'm really not sure what to make of all of this to be honest...
On the singles chart, Jason DeRulo has reached number one with what i consider the WORST song ever "Don't Wanna Go Home" and while that is ruling the metaphorical roost, other shite singles like Ed Sherans 'A Team', Aleo Blacc's 'I Need a Dollar' , Alexandra Stan's 'Mr Saxobeat' and the incredibly, almost insulting awful Pitbull riding high with that shite song i refuse to even name. Its official people, on the 26th of June 2011 the UK singles chart's ever precious credibility died in a flurry of flames, fecal matter and shade...
NO WAIT, COME BACK! THERE'S A LIGHT AT THE END OF THE TUNNEL! *insert angels singing here*
Meanwhile, things on the album chart seem promising and show that the UK is in fact NOT inhabited by mindless, inbred chavs! Hooray! After last weeks Paul 'O Grady special, Lady GaGa's "Born This Way" has leaped back to number one with 47,000 copies sold, Adele is still at number 2 (i don't like her, but to say its not a good album is ignorant) and other famous acts with well reviewed albums like the Arctic Monkeys and Bon Iver also are riding high on the albums chart. Also, on iTunes, the ever wonderful Janelle Monáe seems to be charting well after her flawless Glastonbury performance and Beyoncé's pre-orders seem to be rising as the hype to her Glastonbury debut rises. While the Single chart fades into obscurity and irrelevancy, it seems that the album chart has became the Holy Tome of Music in the UK to all of us with taste. GORLS, GET THE STREAMERS!
Lets face facts here, i have given up hope that GaGa, Britney, Sophie Ellis Bextor, Marilyn Manson, Corey Taylor etc. will EVER have another huge hit on the UK charts now that the UK chavs - known widely as scum - rule the roost, but it seems that these HBICs are now ruling the album chart. Probably for the best, id rather have an album full of solid songs than an album with one shite single and another 11 shite random songs. Now to be honest, i ain't even mad about this. Id rather have GaGa and Britney and all my other favs as album artists than single artists... now that sis, is true ass tea. If you stan a single artist (Ke$ha, Jessie J) then seriously? Get the fuck off of this blog...
The single chart is gone, but long live the singles chart. Think of it as Batman and the single chart as the Joker (not the Heath Ledger/Jack Nicholson/Mark Hammil joker, a shite one...), or New York and Pumkin for those not nerdy readers. The album chart just scalps the singles chart at this point, and you wanna know what...

Rihanna Sued over 'S&M' plagiarism claims, AGAIN
No, she isn't being sued by David Lachapelle AGAIN, this time she is being sued by Phillip Paulus after the imagery in her controversial video for 'S&M' 'exploited' some of the shots from his back collection dating back to August 2010 at the earliest.
The first time Rihanna was sued over the contends of the 'S&M' video was just a couple of months ago (February me thinks...) when David Lachapelle sued RiRI for stealing the entire video idea and its imagery from HIS back collection and portfolio, and rightfully so. It was obvious at the time that the images were 'liberated' from Lachapelles work, but that's not the story here, this is about Paulus and RiRi's beef.
Paulus highlighted one part in particular, a clip of Rihanna strung up behind a wall of transparent plastic - as being directly lifted from one of his pieces, E! Online states in their update on the story. Here is Paulus's official statement about the video
"Why a worldwide celebrity is not able to afford a creative director, who creates individual concepts and stagings, is incomprehensible to me. To create new things within the creative cosmos, you can only expect this to come from a real genius, there is no doubt about that. However, in this case there is no real genius who created their own work; instead they stole ideas from a creative talent. Furthermore, every other creative professional should realise how supremely embarrassing it is to copy the work of colleagues from the artistic world and then to be praised for it."
Paulus's lawyer later added that

Paulus's lawyer later added that
"For legitimate reasons the use of copying Paulus's work over a million times requires an agreement that protects the copyright and the achievements and creations of our client which has never been given by our client, neither to the artist Rihanna nor to her label Universal Music. According to this, the copyright laws of our client has been infringed and the worldwide million-wise exploitation of the video 'S&M' is unlawful... [and] Paulus will take legal action against Rihanna."
Damn sis, where i come from them's fighting words and if one takes it upon themselves to google Paulus's collection, i think its safe to assume that when this goes to court, it will be a wonderful day for a scalping.
'Hew Da Fawk Want Waaar' has NEVER seemed to appropriate, until now anyway. So, what do y'all think about this whole shizznit about the 'S&M' video. Personally, i find the stealing allegations more shocking that the Video itself, but that's just me #shade

Lady GaGa - Born This Way (Expanded Edition): [POP] Review
Artist: Lady GaGa
Album: Born This Way
Released: 23rd May 2011
Marry the Night - 9/10
Strong Opening to a pretty flawless album. Instantly catches your attention. Its very reminiscent of a in-her-peak 80's Whitney Huston. The track features an interesting, almost childlike melody followed by a strong, commanding chorus supported by Fernando Garibay's finest instrumental yet. The 'turn the car on and ruuuuuuuuuun' is also one of the highlights on the album due to its infection delivery. One of my favourite songs off of the album, though I'm unsure how it would bode as a single as it contains many elements similar to that of 'The Edge of Glory'. Also, last minute is way to long and repetitive for my liking, very broken record-esk.
Born This Way - 9/10
Madonna comparisons aside, this is a very strong track. The verses are catchy and well structured even if the lyrics are very touch-and-go. The actual Chorus itself has also been revamped since the VMA's 2010 but it is still one of the strongest chorus's on the album. The Lyrics of the bridge are heavy handed, but get the point across well and show its NOT just a song for Gay Right. We were ALL born this way, even if it is a little Schick-y. Also, the song uses the word 'Chola', which is always nice...
Government Hooker - 10/10
This has been my Pu$$y Poppin' song ever since the album was released. Formed around a series of psychedelic blips, beeps and (sometimes demonic, sometimes cute) chants, the song focuses on what the title suggests: Getting fucked by the government in the hopes that when they are done they will give us what we deserve, money. The sinister sound, Lyrics about JFK and clear references to Marilyn Monroe make for one controversy ridden future single. The 'HoooooooKAH!' chorus is also one of GaGas better ones, the simplicity and backing vocals from her body guard all add up to make another, very 'GaGa' track.
Judas - 7/10
To quote Katy Perry, when it comes to Judas we share a sort of Love-Bipolar. One minute, its the best thing since Mariah Carey scalped J-Lo. Next minute? Its the worst thing since Eminem got off the drugs. Overall though, it IS a strong single and one of the more obvious choices on the album for the single treatment. The demonic screeches during the verse are the obvious highlights here. The song itself may be a complete re-hash of 'Bad Romance' with a pissed off demeanor, but still. Not a bad song at all... just not fantastic on the levels of its sister track.
Americano - 7/10
Upon first listen to this track, one would be forgiven for thinking it was a joke track ,with all the wails, somewhat childlike 'la la la la la la laaa's and lyrics in Mexican, but upon future listens it becomes clear its one of GaGas more poignant tracks about the problems in Phoenix Arizona, even if displayed in quite a camp and somewhat flamboyant visage. Another candidate for 'future single' anyone? Best be calling Honey Bey...
Hair - 9/10
The second campest song on the record (behind FoHL) 'Hair' is one thing and one thing only: GAGA. Following a very standard 80's intro before bursting into a trademark GaGa robotic chorus, 'Hair' is another track that screams future single, if not for the fantastic possibilities that could come out of a video for it. Some 'cute' lyrics and the addition of the saxophone on the backing track equal a song that sounds familiar to hits of the 80's but remain typically GaGa throughout. This can only be a good thing after the infamous 'complications' in recent months.
Scheiße - 11/10
This is it. THE massive hit sitting on 'Born This Way', waiting to jump right out of this album and onto radios, computers and televisions everywhere. Red-One and GaGa's greatest collaboration since 'Bad Romance', 'Scheiße' features the biggest "pop" chorus on BTW and speech like verses that give off a very 1950s vibe. Never has a song about female equality been wrapped up in such an interesting ribbon. The 'Oh Oh Oh Oh Oh' section after the chorus and the chant like 'gibberish' section make for one of the best songs of the album, if not GaGas career.
Bloody Mary - 11/10
Another massive sounding song on the album, but this one should NOT be a single. Another religious song - this time in the form of a haunting pop ballad - the song discusses GaGa's views on Mary Magdalene and how she feels she coped during the fall of Christ. The hymn like chorus and demonic reverb on the verses create an almost haunted, spiritual sounding song, all carried by GaGas ability and control over her voice and the almost tragic tone to the entire song. Another hidden treasure to add to GaGa ever growing catalogue.
Black Jesus † Amen Fashion - 8/10
The most 'Madonna' sounding track on BTW, the song is easily going to become a trademark 'runway' anthem in the coming years. The strong, shout like verses and the chanting, auto tuned chorus may seem very Madonna on first listen (and may be right) but easily becomes its own piece of work out of the reigning Queen of Pops ever foreboding shadow. Best Part? THAT bridge. "BLACK JESUS, BLACK JESUS, BLACK JESUS. Jesus is the new Black. OWWW!" ohh Scheiße... this shit is hot.
Bad Kids - 6/10
One of the tracks I'm neither here nor there about. In my opinion this is one of the few tracks GaGa makes that is simply catchy and nothing more, but when she hypes her material up as much as she does, is this enough? In the case of Bad Kids, no.
Fashion of his Love - 8/10
The pop ballad written and dedicated to Alexander McQueen (GaGa's close friend) this song features some of the cheesiest lyrics GaGa has ever written, yet it never seems crass or forced and seem to flow naturally. A fitting tribute to a revolutionary designer which I'm sure he would be proud of. Look out for the sample of GaGa's old, unreleased track 'Earthquake' just before the second chorus!
Highway Unicorn (Road to Love) - 8/10
This is the point in the album where the melodic theme shifts from a more Whitney-80's esk sound to a more Springsteen sound. With a more 'epic' sound to it that most of the previous tracks, Highway Unicorn is another cheesy, gay anthem in the making, but as GaGa has proven in the past, this is where she shines. With its loud, proclamation like chorus and slow, shouting verse GaGa successfully makes the only song called 'Highway Unicorn' that can be listened to without cracking a grin/throwing shade at its title.
Heavy Metal Lover - 11/10
Perfection. That is the ONLY way to describe this filthy, electro pop ditty with the sleaziest lyrics imaginable. The ultimate 'filthy sex' song. EVER! With low registered, robotic verses purred into your earphones and a mystical, 'ohhhh' chorus section GaGa creates the most original sounding song on the record that is honestly hard to describe without making it sound shit. Another song that shouldn't be a single, THIS is classic GaGa, and easily the most surprising success on the album. It obviously wont be for everyone, but for me? Possibly my favourite track on the album...
Electric Chapel - 8/10
A slow burning up-tempo that focuses more on the almost holy sound to it than a trademark GaGa track, 'Electric Chapel' is a song that given her background and image shouldn't work. Thankfully, it does. The 'Follllooowww Me!' & 'doo do do, dooo do dooo do' hook save the song from becoming boring, and the chorus? Well, that can only be described as 'trippy', with GaGas slow, hymn like vocals and the sound of bells making for a strangely interesting/hypnotic track. One Problem though. That guitar rift at the start of the song sounds oddly familiar...
The Queen - 7/10
This track is interesting, as it has quickly became a fan favourite among the 'Little Monsters'. Discussing GaGas need to be the queen she feels she can, neigh deserves to be, the track starts off as an uptempo ballad-esk ditty with sickeningly sweet vocals before slowing down and becoming an almost acoustic rock track. A good song overall, but one thing seems to ruin it... That annoying 'Qu-Qu-Queen Qu-Qu-Queen' hook. Usually GaGas pattern of repetitive hooks work exceptional well, but on the Queen? It just seems forced... even if i am just a little fond of it.
Yoü And I - 10/10
Its NOT overproduced, its NOT god bad lyrics and its NOT a bad song. There, i said it. Hew Gon Check Meh Boo? Seriously though, 'Yoü And I' is GaGa second best ballad to me (after the perfect 'Wonderful')and i still enjoy it immensely a year after first hearing it. The 'We Will Rock You' sample also works nicely here when it would have sounded phenomenally shite anywhere else. A fitting up-tempo love song to a very, very, very special little romance GaGa so desperately trys to deny. well, the album IS for ü... #shade
The Edge of Glory - 11/10
I ain't writing about it again, just read the last article. http://werenothereforthat.blogspot.com/2011/06/song-of-week-pop-lady-gaga-edge-of.html . To summarise, its orgasmic. PRETTY DAMN AMAZING! *gives thumbs up to the camera*N
Overall, 'Born This Way' has its ups and downs (95% ups, 5% downs) and still manages to retain its charm, likability, catchy-ness and overall class that GaGa always brings so effortlessly to the table with such pizazz and fashion that none of her peers could ever hope to achieve. Its 80's, its crazy, its cohesive and its GaGa. To some, it may not be the best album of the Decade, but the greatest pop album of the year AND the greatest pop album since Britney's flawless 'Blackout'? I think so.....
Best Bits: Government Hooker, Scheiße, Bloody Mary, Heavy Metal Lover, The Edge of Glory
Shit Bits: Bad Kids & The Queen
RATING: 5 out of 5
Sympathy ? Hell yeah !
Ive decided to just do a wee quick review of one of my all-time favorite songs The Rolling Stones - Sympathy For The Devil.
Now, my fascination with this song comes from an, admittedly, sad place. My favorite book is Mikhail Bulgakov - The Master and Margarita and it was rumored that this book was Mick Jaggers' inspiration for the song as some of the lines are similar.
At just over 6 minutes long, its not the shortest of songs but it does tell a decent story, unlike most of the pish that is spouted out by today's crack-ravaged youth (yeah, Ke$ha am lookin at you, feel free to come at me bro). As this glorious little chart depicts...
With a marvelous rock arrangement behind it, Sympathy for the Devil detail some of the worst human atrocities that have been witnessed by the narrator of the story... SATAN ! This includes the Russian Revolution 1917 (I stuck around St. Petersburg when i saw it was a time for a change.) and the JFK assassination (I shouted out 'Who killed the Kennedy's ?' When after all it was you and me.)
The Rolling Stones took a bit of flak for this song as some Christian Extremists (the batshit motherfuckers) took the line 'So if you meet me have some courtesy, have some sympathy, have some taste.' to be evidence that Jagger and his crew were secret devil worshipers.
The fucking Illuminati get everywhere don't they ?
P.S - Indiana Jones and The Temple of Doom >>> LIFE !
P.P.S - I do not in anyway condone the Illuminati... ELLA ELLA ELLA ! BAPHOMET ATTACK !

WNHFT hits 50 Posts Bitches... Bow Da Fawk DownnnnE!
Yes Gawrls you read correctly, WNHFT has officially hit 50 posts. I honestly don't know what to say. Id like to thank the academy, and my mum, Xtina 'cause she is mah biggest inspurrrrasiunnnn...

but seriously, to all the people who have checked out the blog thank you. Your support is much appreciated. Thanks for stanning WNHFT like mad cunts and last of all...
Now, lets raise our glass to WNHFT. May the shade and biased bashing continue forever more!
*Pu$$y Pops to 'Raise Your Glass'*
Ke$ha discuss's Lady GaGa & Britney (ugh...)
This post is a doosey, so all Kat$hit stans should vacate the building if possible. Recently, Ke$ha took it upon herself to discuss the 2 H.B.I.C's of POP during two separate interviews, discussing Britney to The Daily Star and GaGa to Rolling Stone. Shall we discuss Britney first?
Speaking to the Daily Star, Ke$ha said it would be a dream come true to work with Miss. Spears, even though just over a year ago she threw some pretty serious shade at the megastar in her song 'Styrofoam'. Here's what Ke$ha had to say:
"I really hope we can make it work. I know people who saw some early previews of Britney's show and said it was amazing - so I can't wait to go myself." Ke$ha also recently claimed that she is "proud" of writing the track for Spears, stating that "it solidifies [her] as a songwriter in the pop world".
Ugh....
no.
Now for the GaGa shade... here for go gawrls. During a recent interview with the 'Sleazy' singer, Rolling Stone magazine said that her recent flop EP proves that "you would kick Lady Gaga’s ass in a freestyle battle.” (sigh) Do you think that's true and how do you feel about being compared to other female artists?
"Y’know, I get it all the time. I get compared to everyone and their brother. I’m really not trying to be anyone else. I’m rapping when I wanna rap, I’m singing when I wanna sing, I’m screaming when I wanna scream. Compare me to whoever you want and comparing me to a successful, strong woman like Lady Gaga is a huge compliment but I do think I’m very different to anybody out right now. Everyone has their talent but I think what I bring is very different."
Ummmmmmm...................
Kay Bitch
Umm... 'kay... where to begin on this one... imma do this by numbers
1) After the looks shes thrown GaGa at award shows and all the shade she threw at Britney before collaborating with her, i can't help but feel this statement is beyond crass and fake...
2) GaGa doesn't rap, so a 'freestyle' would be kinda obsolete. Lil Mama could whoop Gaga's ass in a freestyle for Christ sake! The bitch ain't a rapper (thankfully)
3) All your tracks sound like 2006 Britney Rejects... your hardly bringing anything 'fresh' and 'new' to an already pretty generic table bitch.
4) You insulted Britney several times last year. Not just in 'Styrofoam', in interviews where you actually name checked her. Stop fucking dick riding Godney just cause you were on a shitty remix.
Well gorls, I'm out. Thoughts on Ke$ha? leave 'um below in the comments...
