The UK Music Scene. Light at the end of the tunnel?

Just several days after i posted my scathing review of the UK music scene it seems that things have gotten both better and worse, I'm really not sure what to make of all of this to be honest...

On the singles chart, Jason DeRulo has reached number one with what i consider the WORST song ever "Don't Wanna Go Home" and while that is ruling the metaphorical roost, other shite singles like Ed Sherans 'A Team', Aleo Blacc's 'I Need a Dollar' , Alexandra Stan's 'Mr Saxobeat' and the incredibly, almost insulting awful Pitbull riding high with that shite song i refuse to even name. Its official people, on the 26th of June 2011 the UK singles chart's ever precious credibility died in a flurry of flames, fecal matter and shade...

#RIP Music Scene

NO WAIT, COME BACK! THERE'S A LIGHT AT THE END OF THE TUNNEL! *insert angels singing here*

Meanwhile, things on the album chart seem promising and show that the UK is in fact NOT inhabited by mindless, inbred chavs! Hooray! After last weeks Paul 'O Grady special, Lady GaGa's "Born This Way" has leaped back to number one with 47,000 copies sold, Adele is still at number 2 (i don't like her, but to say its not a good album is ignorant) and other famous acts with well reviewed albums like the Arctic Monkeys and Bon Iver also are riding high on the albums chart. Also, on iTunes, the ever wonderful Janelle Monáe seems to be charting well after her flawless Glastonbury performance and Beyoncé's pre-orders seem to be rising as the hype to her Glastonbury debut rises. While the Single chart fades into obscurity and irrelevancy, it seems that the album chart has became the Holy Tome of Music in the UK to all of us with taste. GORLS, GET THE STREAMERS!

Lets face facts here, i have given up hope that GaGa, Britney, Sophie Ellis Bextor, Marilyn Manson, Corey Taylor etc. will EVER have another huge hit on the UK charts now that the UK chavs - known widely as scum - rule the roost, but it seems that these HBICs are now ruling the album chart. Probably for the best, id rather have an album full of solid songs than an album with one shite single and another 11 shite random songs. Now to be honest, i ain't even mad about this. Id rather have GaGa and Britney and all my other favs as album artists than single artists... now that sis, is true ass tea. If you stan a single artist (Ke$ha, Jessie J) then seriously? Get the fuck off of this blog...

The single chart is gone, but long live the singles chart. Think of it as Batman and the single chart as the Joker (not the Heath Ledger/Jack Nicholson/Mark Hammil joker, a shite one...), or New York and Pumkin for those not nerdy readers. The album chart just scalps the singles chart at this point, and you wanna know what...
